There is a renewed interest in what institutions and communities can contribute to each other through shared ideas\, experiences\, methods\ , and practices.\n\nMembers of Western University\, Fanshawe College\, the Western Undergraduate Student Council\, the Society of Graduate Students at Western University\, and the City of London invite post-secondary offic ials\, local community groups\, students\, first responders\, economic dev elopment agencies\, and representatives of the various levels of governmen t to participate in a hybrid conference that will:\n\n\n Bring together st akeholders in the town and gown space from universities\, colleges\, and c ommunities across Canada\, providing a forum for the open discussion of ca mpus-community relations\n Facilitate the sharing of experiences and ideas among these partners\, with each bringing perspectives unique in their ci rcumstances and history to the common table\n Initiate and encourage ongoi ng communication and connection among stakeholders regarding town and gown issues\n\n\nRegistration & In-person Attendance\n\nGiven the hybrid forma t of the conference\, there is an in-person (extremely limited!) and virtu al option for registration. The ever-evolving situation of the COVID-19 pa ndemic means the conference will be as flexible as possible in format\, ch anges\, and refunds to attendees. Should the pandemic situation limit in-p erson contact by May 15\, 2022\,  the conference will be transitioned to a completely virtual format.\n\nEarly bird registration ends Monday\, May 16\, 2022. After that date\, fees will increase by $20 across all registra tion options. Live synchronous sessions on the two conference da ys will be hosted from London\, with a small audience. Attendees may also participate remotely in these synchronous sessions. In addition\, we expec t to have all attendees contribute pre-recorded content that will compleme nt the synchronous program and act as a legacy resource from the conferenc e for members.\n\nSession Proposals (Closed)\n\nIn keeping with the confer ence theme on building community vitality\, we are interested in session p roposals that focus on local economic development\, graduate retention\, c ampus-community interactions\, international student inclusion\, and the e ffects of post-secondary campus expansions.
